Castle 120 amp ESCs frying - RC Groups
Summary
First, I have an Extreme Flight 85 Extra, which I was originally flying with a DA 50cc engine, but which I converted to electric. I used the Extreme Flight recommendations when making that conversion: -XPower 40cc motor -Castle Creations HV 120 ESC (from Horizon Hobby because Extreme Flight was out of stock on it) -Xoar 22x10 electric prop -Two 5000mah or 6000mah 6-cell batteries in series -Spektrum 7350 receiver I have this identical electric power setup in an Aerobeez 84 Extra Plenty of air intake in the cowl going over the motor and ESC. It glided for a bit, but then lost complete control, spiraled in, and continued to smoke. The base of the receiver was melted, which is why the plane lost complete control, and spiraled in. Zach at Extreme Flight asked if Id changed any of the settings in the ESC, and I replied "no".
