Slope Soaring & COG Question - RC Groups

On Sunday I was fortunate enough to try my first ever attempt at slope soaring! I quickly installed a new Orange receiver in an old 2M Fling that I had sitting around and performed a rough cog test. Im thinking geez....this is counter intuitive, as normally I dont fly if its too windy. I got the bird up in the air and after I stopped over controlling, enjoyed two 40 plus minutes of exciting flying! Is it better to be nose heavy when slope soaring?
