Strange LEDs - RC Groups

See the image..... Has anyone come across an LED that has the positive voltage on the Anvil (which contains the reflective cavity) instead of the Post? Yes, I checked with a DVM and the red wire + is correct. In my entire life Ive never seen one like this. If I pick up a hundred LEDs the Anvil is the fat one and always negative. The LED is the wingtip NAV light connected to the FMS Sky Trainer wing.
