Last year, it acquired a majority stake in Jochen Schweizer GmbH that operated a business for gift experiences such as balloon trips and bungee jumps for an estimated $120 million. NuCom also owns ten key assets from ProSieben including adult toy retailer Amorelie, gift voucher startup Mydays, and perfume seller Flaconi. Overall, NuCom will operate four key business segments including Home Services & Mobility, Leisure & Relationships, Health & Beauty, and Style. NuCom hopes to integrate its existing media expertise with General Atlantic’s operational and investment excellence to accelerate the growth of its portfolio companies. The researchers estimate most growth to come from Western Europe, which accounts for nearly 68% of total European online retail sales.
