Dragonlink keeps loosing connection briefly - RC Groups

I’m using the Eagletree Vector as my FC, I have the gps on the platform towards the tail with the dragonlink antenna through the hole slightly forward of that. Testing on the ground I have a solid link but every flight the RSSI drops to 0 briefly and the return to home kicks in as it should. I replaced the cable from the receiver to the flight controller as I thought a wire maybe loose or broken. I also used a spot of hot glue to secure all the connections in the receiver and flight controller. I haven’t flown any great range or height and I’ve had the model in visual contact the entire time.
