SRT Alliance Surpasses 350 Members as Tata Communication, Panasonic, Edgeware and DVSport Join SRT Open Source Project
Summary
“SRT has emerged as a great protocol for getting live video from sporting event locations to our core network,” said Jeremy Dujardin, CTO of Global Media and entertainment Services at Tata Communications. “We support thousands of events per year globally and have proven our SRT workflows across a number of vendor products for video contribution. These feeds are used for both direct to air and remote production.” “DVSport relies on SRT every day to fuel our live replay systems for NCAA sports. SRT has enabled us to reduce our costs and expand our services by taking advantage of readily accessible low-cost business networks for flawless live video transport,” said Brian Lowe, CEO of DVSport. In addition to its more than 350 alliance members, SRT is also supported by VideoLAN’s VLC, Wireshark, FFmpeg and the GStreamer open source projects.
