According to an article published on ZDNet, Researchers have linked the malicious attacks with an increasing use of mobile banking apps. This gives hackers an opportunity to design malware to steal login credentials, payment data, and funds from victims’ bank accounts. Malware applications are silently running in the background while the user has no knowledge or indication of it being on their phone. With hackers attacking in more savvy and calculated ways, many forms of Android malware are able to go undetected for prolonged periods of time, or even turning off Android’s Google Protect security. As we increasingly use smartphones to handle our personal and professional business, hackers will follow.
