General News

Summary

In November 2017, the Academic Senate for The California Community Colleges officially endorsed Starfish by Hobsons as part of their Guided Pathways proposals. “Guided Pathways” refers to a student-centered system for colleges to help increase credential completion and graduation rates for all students. “Integrating holistic educational planning, timely interventions, scheduling and analytics are critical to successfully implementing Guided Pathways and to meeting the goals outlined in the Vision for Success,” said Rhonda Mohr, Vice Chancellor, Student Services and Special Programs at California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. The Chancellor’s Office support of Hobsons’ Starfish solution, following a competitive award process, ensures the delivery of enhancements necessary to support the Vision for Success goals under the Guided Pathways Framework.” Starfish has also been accepted outside of the Chancellor’s Office, at the individual school level, where over 40 schools have already engaged the platform. “It is our high-tech, high-touch solution that operationalizes cohort management, and guides students in their journey to completion.” “Starfish is proud to deepen our relationship with the California Community Colleges system in support of their mission to implement Guided Pathways and to reach the goals outlined in their Vision for Success,” said Howard Bell, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Starfish by Hobsons.
