Power outage affects thousands of SDG&E customers

Thousands of San Diego Gas & Electric customers were left without power Thursday night. The power outage, which was reported about 8:40 p.m., affected customers in North Park, University Heights, Normal Hieghts, Kearny Mesa, Tierrasanta and Mission Valley. According to its website, SDG&E planned to restore power around 12:30 a.m. Friday. The outage affected more than 6,000 customers, with about 4,000 still without power as of late Thursday night. As of 6:30 a.m. Friday, power had been restored to all but 96 customers in the North Park and University Heights area.
