Summary

The companies are asking for people who want to bring about positive social change in their local communities to submit creative project ideas. If successful in reaching their funding targets, the projects will each be awarded $500, with the ‘Crowdfunding Fave’ given an extra $2000 for their efforts. Rick Chen, co-founder of Pozible, said, “We’re committed to supporting local community groups and the three successful projects will receive invaluable training, education and advice from the Pozible team to ensure they are well-equipped to manage their initiative moving forward.” Simon Crowe, founder and managing director of Grill’d, said the Local Matters program supports over 3000 groups and initiatives across Australia each year. “Teaming up with an innovative and like-minded organisation like Pozible will open up this already thriving program to a new group of budding change makers and social entrepreneurs, and help them get their projects off the ground,” Crowe said. The event will include a panel discussion featuring Crowe, Chen, and previous Local Matters participants, and will look to advise attendees on how to turn their socially responsible ideas into viable businesses that can give back to the community.
