Volta hires Velocity and Creative Destruction Lab founding director as its CEO

Besides founding the two startup hubs, Rodgers was also co-founder of TribeHR, which was eventually acquired by California-based NetSuite for an undisclosed sum. Executive director Melody Pardoe, who had been leading the incubator until now, will become the organization’s chief operating officer. In his role, Rodgers will assist Volta’s resident founders, establish community partnerships with educational institutions, expand Volta’s influence in the ICT sector and forge new relationships within the Atlantic Canada business ecosystem. City staff has already recommended that Volta occupy the memorial library’s space. Its 39 startups and alumni have raised $24.5 million in equity financing since Volta’s establishment in 2013.
