New Cork to Zurich flight route opens today

The Swiss International Airlines flights will run until September, with a view to them being extended if the route is popular. Speaking as the inaugural flight landed today, Conor Healy, CEO of Cork Chamber, said: “With this new route to Zurich, Swiss visitors will arrive right here on our doorstep. Ensuring that more people fly directly into Cork is key to growing the number, spend and length of stay of tourists in the city and county. “In the past few months we have seen the number of trips to Ireland from mainland Europe grow by 2.2% which is hugely important to both the national and local economies. “We hope that there will be strong take-up of the flights so we can build on and expand this route after September,” Healy added.
