Europe’s top 25 cloud start-ups battle it out in VC beauty contest
Summary
Twenty five of Europe’s most innovative cloud computing companies will be pitching to an audience of elite venture capital firms and tech industry executives for the next two days at the European Tech Tour Association (ETT) Cloud and ICT 2.0 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The ETT Selection Committee pared the long list down to 85 from 16 countries and reviewed these organisations’ business plans. Of the companies selected, 20 are seeking financing and/or international partnerships to fuel expansion and growth, while the other five are in a seed or start-up phase. Of the final 25 companies six are from UK & Ireland, five from Benelux, five from Central Europe (Germany-Austria-Switzerland), three from Spain, three from France, two from Scandinavia and one from Russia. “Major players are investing billions of dollars in underlying infrastructure and platform services, thus creating new ways for innovators and entrepreneurs to dream up viable business models.
