The company founders (including Moshe Yanai) have a strong pedigree in the storage industry, having developed the Symmetrix platform for EMC and founding XIV, which was eventually sold to IBM. The NexGen platform is relatively unusual in that the hybrid models deliver flash using PCIe SSD rather than traditional HDDs (a reflection of the heritage of the company).
