Del Norte to celebrate a music-filled homecoming

Del Norte High School is welcoming the community to its 11th annual homecoming festivities on Friday, which includes a lunchtime parade and evening football game. It will feature the four class floats decorated per this year’s homecoming theme “Spin the Record — Music Through the Decades.” In addition, the fall sports teams and many campus organizations will have members walking in the parade. During the parade and varsity football game’s half-time show the students voted by their peers as the 2019 Faces of the Flock will be recognized. The honorees are seniors Alexis Abdou, Armit Arunsundar, Kenneth Choi and Ridhi Mishra; juniors Cole Anderson and Brooke Fernandez; sophomores Joshua Bursey and Crystal Widjaja; and freshmen Kevin He and Meghna Mohan. On Monday, they were allowed to wear their pajamas to school to represent their “sleep playlist.” Tuesday they donned flannel, cowboy boots and cowboy hats for “country playlist,” while on Wednesday they came in colorful, summer clothes for “summer playlist.” Today (Thursday) they were to wear hippie and boho attire for “chill playlist” day, while on Friday they are to come to classes in their school colors of blue and green for “hype playlist.” The students will conclude their homecoming festivities with a dance on Saturday evening in the school gym.
