TicketGuardian, a Newport Beach, Calif.-based insurtech startup operating in the live events space, raised $8m in Series A funding. The round, which brought total funding raised to date to $13m, was led by American Family Ventures and IA Capital Group. Led by CEO and founder Bryan Derbyshire, TicketGuardian enhances the attendee and fan experience by providing an option to protect their tickets. An attendee can insure their purchased ticket, registration or booking through the company’s FanShield suite of products. The company, which has 40 employees, partners with dozens of platforms such as Provenue, Accesso Showare, Showclix, events.com and others.
