week sees undisputed king of the public cloud Amazon Web Services hold its own shindig in Las Vegas and today sees hold its own cloud event in Silicon Valley. They always had the technology piece, they’re now seriously putting together some of the stuff that enterprises need such that they’ll take Google seriously as a cloud player – today’s event is no different. Vice presidents Brian Stevens and Joerg Heilig and director of product management Greg DeMichillie are on stage lifting the lid on a bunch of changes that show their real intentions. By meeting the needs of enterprises through services like Cloud Interconnect, Google is demonstrating a maturing realization about the imperatives that real-world organizations face. I’ve said for the past couple of years that we now have a Google that is a real player in the public enterprise cloud space.
