Dangote set to employ over 350 Lagos graduate trainees

The Employability Support Project, is an initiative of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and it is designed to provide unemployed and underemployed youths in Lagos State with vocational skills training by well-certified and credible training partner Executive Secretary, LSETF, Akintunde Oyebode, who disclosed the company’s plan in an interview with newsmen yesterday, urged other corporate organizations to also emulate the line and reduce unemployment statistics. “I enjoin other corporate organizations to follow Dangote’s lead in recruiting the well-trained and certified manpower that the Employability Support Project has produced and supporting the Lagos State Government in its effort to bridge the unemployment gap in the state. “Manpower skills gap remains a significant issue for businesses operating in the State and we are pleased to see that world-class brands are satisfied with the quality of our trainees and the scheme in general,” he added. Stressing on the essence of the job fair, recently held in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer, of a skill firm, Nigeria, Amit Washington, stated that the move by Dangote and its partner vendors to employ trainees of the employability support project, is a testament to the quality of the scheme. “As such, it is fulfilling that a multinational organization of Dangote’s calibre has shown interest in recruiting a large number of our trainees.” Washington, who was represented by the General manager Mrs. Ebunoluwa Bolodeoku, added that about 150 graduate trainees have also been selected for immediate employment in addition to 600 job commitments from leading organizations.
