UNLV Updates POS Technology with SkyWire in Capstone Cafe

In its place, SkyWire fitted a cloud based point of sale (POS) into the existing network structure allowing for minimal preparation and ease of transition. When it came time to update the current point of sale system, "our decision to go with SkyWire was based on three factors: price, location of company, and the integration of a back-of-the-house purchasing software," said executive chef Mark Sandoval. SkyWire is a local company, based out of Las Vegas, that specializes in enterprise technology for the hospitality sector, providing solutions like point of sale, property management system, time and attendance, and spa and activities software. UNLV’s Harrah Hotel College senior capstone course is designed for students to exercise and apply their management techniques, customer relations, and leadership skills. UNLV’s faculty members are internationally-renowned, and alumni consist of some of the most influential leaders in the industry, with graduates overseeing major hotel brands, popular restaurants and event firms, and Fortune 500 companies.
