COCC students holding Splash-a-palooza

General News

Summary

The project was the idea of COCC Madras students in the Small Communications Group class. "We had to find a real-life project to do for a nonprofit organization as part of the class," said student Gerald Tufti. The others in his group include Savannah Booth, Janae Adams, Cece Andy, and instructor Mike Artus. "We picked the Madras Splash Park because its something that will benefit kids health instead of them sitting on the couch at home and watching TV," Tufti said. He said the Madras Splash Park is being constructed with grant funds, but money raised by Splash-a-palooza will go for extra things, such as benches and trash cans.
