COCC president visits Madras

With a district serving 10,000 square miles, COCC is the oldest two-year college in Oregon and is currently celebrating its 69th anniversary. The colleges mission is to promote student success, provide lifelong educational opportunities and community enrichment. Metcalf noted the results of a recent study on the economic impacts of COCC in Central Oregon, covering 2015-16. The report said the college is an employer and buyer of goods and services, and the living expenses of students also benefit local businesses. "Even during the recession, COCC was one of the fastest growing community colleges in the nation," Metcalf pointed out.
