To test the durability of a competitors Surface Pro case, the boffins at MobileDemand performed a head-to-head drop test against the MobileDemand rugged Surface Pro case. The goal of the test is to end up with a fully functional unit showing no physical damage after 26 total drops to all corners edges and faces. Both products claim MIL-STD-810G, which is a series of tests that are designed to determine how well a device can put up with general physical abuse while in operation. MobileDemand takes it to the extreme and uses only ONE tablet to pass all drops! Does this make your Surface indestructible – certainly not and we don’t recommend you try the rugged Microsoft Surface case drop test at home but its good to know we have thought about what sort of punishment your tablet might encounter.
