Maine.gov Recognized With 2019 Government Experience Award
Summary
“This year’s results are evidence that state and local government agencies are continuing to grow the sophistication of their digital experiences,” said Dustin Haisler, Chief Innovation Officer for the Center for Digital Government. “The Government Experience Award winners from this year are not just leveraging innovative tools like chatbots to amplify their reach, they are also going the extra mile to build a proper foundation to support the future and ensure citizens get the right information at the right time.” Maine.gov is a portal network of more than 175 online services and 368,000 pages of web content that allow users to conduct official government business from their home or office. In 2019, new technologies were implemented including content-management-powered agency web presences, deployment of 16 redesigned websites and nearly two dozen new and enhanced online services. “InforME works in partnership with the state of Maine to provide accurate information and user-friendly navigation on Maine.gov for citizens, small businesses, community officials and other states nationwide,” said Maine Governor Janet Mills. “I am pleased to see the Center for Digital Government recognize that work, which informs and engages the public across all state government platforms, and I congratulate everyone involved on receiving this honor.” The state’s official website was designed at no cost to Maine taxpayers through a collaboration between Maine’s digital government services partner, Maine Information Network, LLC., a subsidiary of NIC, and the State of Maine.
