Summary

Back in the dark ages, when I started in the lab, patient self-testing was limited to pregnancy tests and finger-stick blood sugars. But the individual would have to understand about false positives (eating rare meat) and would have to be followed up by a colonoscopy. Hunger and Weight, Joint Care, Skin Aging DNA tests: So what do patients do with this information? We used to require first morning sample for pregnancy tests but the sensitivity of the kits are so good that is no longer necessary but still preferred. Are patients getting false positive results and worrying needlessly that they may have an STD or a cancer or genetic defect?
