Stripe Raises $250M in Funding At Pre-Money Valuation of $35 Billion

Stripe, a San Francisco, CA-based company that builds solutions to accept payments and manage business online, raised $250m in additional funding. Backers included General Catalyst, Sequoia, and Andreessen Horowitz, among others. The company has built a programmable infrastructure for global money movement, the Global Payments and Treasury Network (GPTN), and some products and services atop that foundation, including Connect, Billing, Terminal, and Radar. Last week, Stripe announced new products including Stripe Capital, to give businesses easier access to funds; a corporate card, to manage their corporate spending; instant payouts to all of its US accounts; etc. Headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Dublin, London, Paris, Singapore, Tokyo, and more, where it has 1,700+ employees, the company recently launched in eight additional countries and will be expanding to more in the coming months.
