Yes, some patient had stolen the balls and bells, the Santas and the angels from the faux needle covered limbs of our Christmas tree. The only redeeming thought about this was perhaps somebody’s little girl or boy now had ornaments on their tree at home for Christmas. And so far, the decorations have remained on the tree and on the doors and routine trips to the waiting room are made just to be sure. On that day, we all wore our beads and celebrated with a King Cake for lunch. Wearing cheap, chunky gold, green, and purple beads around your neck all day kept us laughing and joking with each other and our patients.
