Output has released a new plug-in called Portal.The Los Angeles-based software companys latest product is a granular effects processor designed for maximum accessibility. The powerful synthesis technique, which splits audio into thin splices and are then rearranged in new ways, excels at abstract sound design, but Portal attempts to gear it toward more digestible purposes. Output says its centred on "re-synthesizing sounds to give you a result thats more closely related to the original input" and to expect "less random bloops and bleeps and more creative music making.
