freenet has acquired the remaining minority stake in Exaring AG and now owns 100% of waipu.tv. The company paid about 76 million euros for the rest of the shares, based on a valuation of around 300 million euros. waipu.tv says it has about 2 million customers and holds roughly 20% to 25% of the German IPTV market. The full buyout ends any prospect of an IPO for Exaring and simplifies the ownership structure. freenet will finance the deal from existing cash and does not plan to change its dividend policy.
