Berlin-based digital road freight platform Sennder raises €62.4 million to modernize the trucking industry | EU-Startups
Summary
Founded in 2015, Sennder has just raised €62.4 million in a Series C round led by Lakestar, with participation from Accel, HV Holtzbrinck Ventures, Project A, Siemens’ Next47, H14, and Scania Growth Capital. In an industry that has traditionally relied on pen and paper, Sennder’s platform features a mobile app for drivers to view and accept loads, fleet management tools for trucking companies, and logistics management data and analytics. Users can also view information about their goods in real-time, including the exact location of a shipment, as well as receive automatic notifications of delays due to traffic or other circumstances. With the new funding, Sennder plans to expand across new markets and develop its technology and operational capabilities. “The investments by venture capital firms Lakestar and Accel show that we have identified a massive challenge and its solution that will play a vital role for the future of the European logistic markets,” said Sennder co-founder Nicolaus Schefenacker.
