WhatsApp is testing the Restricted Chat feature
Summary
WhatsApp is testing a Restricted Chat feature for Android and iOS beta users. The feature limits the transfer of sensitive conversations to a main phone and prevents syncing to tablets, desktops, and other devices. It also blocks chat history export and automatic media downloads for those chats. The feature is designed for private conversations that should stay on the primary device, but it does not fully prevent screenshots or manual saving. Meta has not announced a general release date yet.
