I thought that it was too expensive so I decided to buy 100% ethanol from a general laboratory supply company. Trying to buy ethanol and transport it across state lines at regular intervals raises all kinds of flags with lots of regulatory agencies. While having my yearly maintenance one day, I was complaining (whining) to the service engineer about the amount of paperwork that I had to do to get the alcohol. Now the last time I had even seen a bottle of Everclear was in college when students would make bath tub “swamp water” or “purple passion punch” combining it with lime or grape Kool-ade. SoI went to the office manager and asked for a check for the liquor store so I could buy my Everclear.
