Cognex Extends Family of Host-Based Vision Systems with High-Performance Color PCI Frame Grabber

Cognex Corp. (Natick, MA), a supplier of machine vision systems, introduced the MVS-8100C, a high performance, acquisition-specific PCI frame grabber for acquiring and displaying images in color. The MVS-8100C provides real-time image transfer to the host PC for analysis and, with the visual appeal of full RGB color display, enables operators to better monitor inspection operations involving colored parts. "While many plant operators have become accustomed to monitoring other aspects of their manufacturing process in full color, most vision systems performing grey-scale image analysis display images in black and white," says Justin Testa, VP of marketing for Cognex. According to Testa, the MVS-8100C removes this limitation by providing users with the benefit of viewing parts in full color. Users can choose the Cognex Object Manager Interface (OMI) for rapid application prototyping and deployment, or the CVL Software Developers Kit for developing fully customizable applications in Microsoft Visual C++.
