Palantir Technologies, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based big data fusion software provider, acquired Kimonolabs, Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a solution that lets people turn websites into structured APIs from their browsers quickly.Co-founded by Pratap Ranade and Ryan Rowe and graduated from Y Combinator, the company created a bookmarklet/chrome extension which enabled users to scrape and crawl websites without any programming required.The product, now used by over 125k developers, data scientists and businesses, will be discontinued on 2/29/2016.According to Crunchbase, Kimonolabs was backed by Aaron Krane, Adam D’Angelo, Anand Swaminathan, Aviv Nevo, Cowboy Ventures, CrunchFund, David Petersen, Founders Fund, Geoff Ralston, Gianni Martire, High Line Venture Partners, Ian Roncoroni, Inaki Berenguer, Initialized Capital and Joshua Reeves.Palantir raised $200m in Series K funding in December 2015 (read here).
