Shell to more than double US company-owned convenience retail sites with acquisition of Tri Star Energy

Shell signed an agreement to acquire the remaining interest in Tri Star Energy and move from a minority stake to full ownership. The deal adds 320 company-owned fuel and convenience sites in Tennessee and nearby states, plus supply agreements for 552 dealer-owned locations. Shell says the transaction fits its plan to concentrate capital in markets where it has strong advantages and expects to close the deal by the end of 2026, pending regulatory approval. After closing, Shell will run Tri Star Energy through its Texas Petroleum Group subsidiary and significantly expand its company-owned mobility and convenience footprint in the southern US.
