Coast Guard Establishes Office of Maritime Cybersecurity Policy

The U.S. Coast Guard created a new Office of Maritime Cybersecurity Policy to centralize cyber policy for the Marine Transportation System. The office will develop domestic policy, support international standards, coordinate compliance and enforcement, and work with industry and government partners. The move responds to rising cyber risk in ports, vessels, and other maritime infrastructure as operational technology use expands.
