Bay Path University lands $1.6M grant to boost women in workforce

Funding Rounds

Summary

Bay Path President Carol Leary called the Strada grant "powerful and significant," adding that it will help women develop the technological mindset to solve problems in a humanitarian way - and make the world a better place. The Bay Path project will address a critical national need for developing a digitally fluent workforce -- especially among women -- that is applicable not only in cybersecurity and the tech sector but in other fields. William D. Hansen, president and CEO of Strada Education Network, said the group is excited to support Bay Path University in its ongoing efforts to help women gain a bigger foothold in the tech sector. "Theyre listening to education consumers as well as employers, and designing solutions that are relevant to the real-world challenges -- and opportunities -- todays students face," Hansen said. Charlie Baker, who has made cybersecurity a state priority, visited Bay Path in December where he received an update on the Paragus partnership.
