OpenRA is releasing a new playtest with major updates across map generation, gameplay balance, and mod support. The update adds random map generators for Red Alert, Tiberian Dawn, and Dune 2000, and it supports both Skirmish and Multiplayer modes. Dune 2000 also gets new visual effects, bulk purchase logic for the Starport, and broader balance changes. The Tiberian Dawn HD mod reaches feature-complete status and adds a content manager for switching between remastered and classic assets. The release also improves the map editor, adds new missions, and continues progress on localization and other quality-of-life features.
