NICE delivers more good news for cervical cancer patients

NICE has recommended MSD’s Keytruda for use alongside chemoradiotherapy in women with stage 3 or 4 locally advanced cervical cancer in England. The guidance opens access for about 270 patients a year and marks the first NICE-backed immunotherapy option for this setting. The decision builds on KEYNOTE-A18 trial results, which showed better progression-free and overall survival versus chemoradiotherapy alone. NICE also covers both the intravenous and subcutaneous versions of Keytruda. This expands the treatment pathway for cervical cancer and gives NHS providers a new reimbursement-backed option to evaluate and deploy.
