Microsoft extended the free security update window for Windows 10 devices enrolled in its Extended Security Updates program until 12 October 2027. The change gives users extra time to move to Windows 11, especially on PCs that do not meet the newer system requirements. Microsoft still limits ESU coverage to critical and important security patches, with no new features or general technical support included.
