Floating classrooms: SENA's technological transformation in the Pacific

▤ Summary

SENA modernized the shipyard infrastructure at its nautical training center in Buenaventura with an investment of more than 14.4 billion pesos. The project turned the site into a specialized environment for sustainable shipbuilding and equipped it with new machinery, renewable-energy systems, and a 3D navigation simulator. SENA also built seven floating training units that will bring technical education to coastal and river communities in several Pacific-region departments. The initiative expands access to maritime, fishing, aquaculture, communications, and safety training while supporting cleaner mobility and local innovation.
