Google Meet: Joining via Safari on iOS now possible

Google Meet now supports joining calls directly in Safari on iPhone and iPad without installing an app. Users who open a Meet invite link and do not have the app are routed to the web version inside the mobile browser. The feature works for Google Workspace customers and personal Google accounts, and users without a Google account can still request to join by entering their name. Google started rolling out the change on June 23, 2026, and distribution will continue gradually over more than 15 days.
