IIT Madras delivers first batch of indigenously developed active wheelchairs to Army Hospital

IIT Madras has delivered the first 25 YD One active wheelchairs to Army Hospital in Delhi Cantonment. The project is part of a 100-unit rehabilitation program funded through a CSR partnership with Fiserv. IIT Madras developed the wheelchair at its R2D2 center, and incubated startup Thryv Mobility manufactures it. The product targets independent mobility for injured soldiers, veterans, and dependents, and the remaining units will ship over the coming months.
