Corvil raises €10m in funding

Corvil Networks, a Dublin-based technology company, said yesterday it had raised €10 million funding from several investors, including Cisco Systems. US venture capital firm Apax Partners was lead investor in the new round of funding, which was advised by Ion Equity. Mr Donal Byrne, Corvil chief executive, said the company would employ an additional 20 people by the end of the year. Corvil was set up in April 2000 by Prof John Lewis of the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies. Additional investors in the firm include Iona Equity and Enterprise Ireland, which participated in a separate fundraising completed last year.
