StarBand Communications Gets $50 Million Cash Investment

StarBand Communications Inc., Littleton, Colo., has received $50 million in a cash investment by EchoStar Communications Corp., EchoStar said. The investment increases EchoStars total stake in the company to 32% from 19%. The stake will increase again to 60% by the end of the year after construction begins on a satellite that will be allocated for the StarBand service, EchoStar said.
