Quickplay, a Toronto, Canada-based provider of a managed video platform, secured Canadian $57m in growth capital.Backers included private equity owner Madison Dearborn Partners, Orix Ventures and Difference Capital Financial.It has become a large provider of linear over-the-top (OTT) TV distributing 700 channels and 4,000 live events each year.The company has launched multiscreen video services for Verizon, AT&T, Rogers, Bell and TELUS.On March 4, 2015, Quickplay acquired Roundbox to monetize engaging premium viewing experiences on any device or mobile network by using multicast (one-to-many), and unicast (one-to-one) technologies (read here).
