Brazilian flying boat promises to reduce travel from days to hours in the Amazon

AeroRiver is developing a Brazilian flying boat designed to cut Amazon travel times from days to hours. The vehicle uses ground-effect technology to move about five meters above water and can carry up to 10 passengers or roughly one ton of cargo. The company says the design will use rivers as infrastructure, avoid airports and runways, and reach speeds of up to 150 km/h. AeroRiver is also building a drone version for small cargo and aims to begin operations before year-end. The project has support from Brazil’s Centelha program and could lower logistics costs in remote regions.
