India Post to use drones after tie-up with Skye Air in Himachal and Assam

India Post is expanding drone-based mail transport through a partnership with Skye Air Mobility in Himachal Pradesh and Assam. The deployment will cover 150 routes and link 110 locations in Himachal Pradesh and 40 in Assam to improve last-mile delivery in hard-to-reach areas. The drones use AI-based autonomous navigation and can carry payloads of up to 10 kg over routes from 5 km to more than 80 km. The initiative targets faster delivery of mail, pensions, government notices, medicines, and other essential services in regions affected by floods, snowfall, and weak transport infrastructure.
