Researchers at the Netherlands Cancer Institute developed ARTIMES, an AI model that measures pleural mesothelioma tumors more accurately than the current RECIST standard. The model evaluates full tumor volume from CT scans and helps physicians decide when to continue, stop, or switch treatment. The team tested it on more than 11,000 scans from over 2,000 patients and found it improved treatment-response assessment in clinical trials.
