Bremen project digitally records teachers’ invisible working time for the first time

Bremen will launch a pilot in the 2026/27 school year to digitally track teachers’ working time at nine schools. The project uses the Untis Arbeitszeit app, which records both visible and less visible tasks such as lesson prep, grading, parent meetings, and supervision duties. School leaders will get aggregated dashboards to review staffing and task distribution, while individual teachers will only access their own data under GDPR rules. The pilot aims to make workload more transparent and later guide decisions to reduce burden and improve school operations.
