SEACOM has activated a new fibre route between Nairobi and Kampala to expand East Africa’s backbone capacity. The link improves resilience, throughput, and route diversity for traffic moving across Kenya, Uganda, and neighboring markets. The corridor supports carriers, cloud providers, and enterprise customers that depend on low-latency regional connectivity. SEACOM also built in automated rerouting and alternate border crossings to reduce disruption risk. The upgrade adds more capacity for rising cloud and digital services demand across the region.
